What’s the difference between YOU, Obama and Romney?

August 30, 2012

It has nothing to do with the fact that they are running for President.

The answer is eMail…..

The presidential campaigns of Barack Obama and Mitt Romney don’t share a lot of common ground, but they have at least one thing in common. They have both bought in some of the top marketing brains in the world and top marketers know that eMail is one of the most effective ways of increasing sales, or in the case of presidential campaigns, raising funds.

It is estimated that between them, they will raise $80 million, just via eMail marketing alone.

Kinda makes ya think doesn’t it? Especially as most people don’t even like politicians.

Got to ask you a question…

If the top marketers say eMail is one of the most effective marketing methods, future presidents are doing it AND your competitors are doing it.

Why are you NOT doing it?

Now some people say “eMails doesn’t work” or “it will annoy your clients”.

Ask them this question “Is that a fact or a personal opinion?” because the top marketers are saying different….

Now, if Romney and Obama do it and get $80 million and our clients do it and get some amazing results, then so can you.

You can be right or you can be rich, but you cannot be both

October 12, 2010

During the labour party’s leadership contest, all the pundits predicted David would be the leader of the labour party. They all got it wrong and then proceeded to be right, by explaining why David didn’t win, to defend their corner in order to look good in front of their peers.

I remember my coach telling me that as humans we will spend all our lives trying to be “right and looking good.” She then asked me “How would your world be if I didn’t feel the need to be right and to look good. Put another way, you can defend your existing beliefs if you wish, but it’s not going to get you a different result.

You can justify why you are overweight or you can start to change your diet and exercise.

You can rationalize why your relationship is no longer passionate, or you can surprise your partner with a romantic meal for two.

You can excuse why your business isn’t working or you can solve the problems and earn more money.

It’s very easy to ‘play safe’ and have excuses that protect you from ‘losing’, the problem is you’ll blend into the crowd, never to be seen again and never achieve any of your dreams.
If you want your life to be extraordinary, an example to others, you MUST do things differently to everyone else.

So next time you hear someone in the press or on TV whinging and moaning about the economy or how nobody’s got any money, ask yourself ‘Do I want to be right (by fitting in with the general consensus of how the world is) or do I want to be a successful business owner and rich, with the lifestyle you’ve always dreamed of?’

If you want to succeed you must ignore what 97% of the general business population are doing and learn from the 2% who are succeeding regardless of what is happening in the market.
The days where you would just put a website up and get on the phone and call around is just not effective anymore.
So what are the 2% successful businesses using instead?
